TOWER #3
This impressive gem was invented in the Fall of 2002, when I put the new 40m beam on Tower #2 that the C3 used to have. Gotta put that second tribander somewhere! This is 24' of 3" dia x .065 wall boom tubing out of the antenna pile. The guys are 1/4" (top set) & 3/16" (lower set) dacron/polyester line. The cross arm at the bottom is the Gin Pole used to raise the thing with a block and tackle anchored to a stake off to the left side. The cross arm as shown is guyed off to ground stakes, to help take some of the torque off of the brackets that attach the mast to the 4" x 4" post.
After you get done howling, and pick yourself up off the floor:
Please realize that I work 200-300 extra q's with this antenna in every contest. I've busted many SA/Carib pileups with it in the DX contests. It is often louder than the TH7 in SS. So, I think it is a really cool piece of junk to have in the back yard. I'll figure out how to get it up a little higher someday.
